SMS Backup & Restore is an app that backs up (creates a copy of) SMS & MMS messages and call logs currently available on the phone. It can also restore messages and call logs from already existing backups. Note: This app requires existing backups to be able to restore call logs and messages. It cannot recover anything without existing backups.

Permissions required by SMS Backup & Restore v. 9.74.1

  • Access the Account Service list
  • Access user's contacts
  • Write contact data without reading them
  • Access phone state without changing it
  • View the user's call log
  • Entrer the log data without reading it
  • Access SMS messages
  • Manage and record incoming SMS

  • Modify network connectivity state
Commonly used:
  • Save files to external storage
  • Access data stored on external storage
  • Prevent device from going to sleep
